Yankee Stadium’s outfield is under water. While he was broadcasting Wednesday night’s Yankees victory at the Los Angeles Angels, remotely from the Stadium, broadcaster Michael Kay was tweeting dramatic pictures of the stadium outfield. It is a good thing the Yankees do not have a scheduled game on Thursday.
New York City and the northeast – including my home state of Connecticut- are getting hammered from the remnants of Ida. Some areas are expecting in excess of six inches of rain. NYC is under a flood emergency. Newark, NJ has exceeded its record rainfall for one day in three hours. Wind speed is also expected to increase overnight.
